Cross-Border Growth, Built on China’s Commerce Playbook: FFCCCII Attends AI Vision Forum Manila 2026

Platforms with roots in China’s commerce and content ecosystems presented AI systems that can help Filipino-Chinese businesses reach new markets

MANILA, Philippines – Many Filipino-Chinese businesses already trade across borders, serve customers in more than one language and close sales through private chat. At AI Vision Forum Manila 2026, held on October 28 at Shangri-La The Fort, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) was among the business community as AI platforms presented systems built for exactly that way of doing business.

The commerce playbook, powered by AI

RunLink was presented by Chu Bo, Executive Partner of RunLink Global and a Partner of RunLink Group. Before RunLink, he was a founding partner of three businesses built inside China’s major commerce ecosystems: Gaoyong Alliance within the Alibaba ecosystem, Duoduo Jinbao within the Pinduoduo ecosystem, and Chiming Media MCN, an influencer network on Douyin. RunLink brings that approach to businesses in global markets, with AI agents that produce multilingual content, run media buying and convert customers in private chat. For businesses that already sell through chat, this can turn a familiar channel into one that scales.

Reaching new markets in their own language

A3SEO builds websites and content that take a business from search to sale in more than a dozen languages. For traders and brands selling across the region, that can open markets that once required a local office or a local agency.

Short drama, made in the Philippines

Duck Reels, a Philippine-registered company building an AI production system for short drama in Southeast Asia, presented its in-house production tool at the forum. Duck Reels and DuckVerse, its short-drama app, were represented by Prof. Peter Ng, Advisor to Duck Reels and Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he leads the Game Lab, and by Karry Tang, Product Partner and Chief Product Operation Officer of DuckVerse, who previously held senior operations roles at ByteDance’s Douyin Live and at Alibaba. Short drama, a format that grew on China’s platforms, can now be produced locally for Southeast Asian audiences.

From Weibo to the One-Person Company

HowOne was presented by Daniel Chen, SVP and Product Lead, who previously served as Director of Gaming Platform at Weibo. HowOne lets one person describe a product in plain language and have AI agents build, launch and help run it, a lean way to start a new venture.

Cloud partners from the region

Alibaba Cloud and Huawei Cloud took part in the Cloud Tech Panel Discussion. Alibaba Cloud was represented by Gary Huang, a Singapore-based Solution Architect who guides partners and customers through Alibaba Cloud’s AI offerings, including the Qwen model family. Huawei Cloud was represented by Romulo Gapuz Jr., Chief Technology Officer of Huawei Cloud Philippines. For businesses already working with these providers in other markets, the same infrastructure can support their growth in the Philippines.

Next stop: Hong Kong

The forum was co-organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Hangzhou Technology and Innovation Research Institute. After Manila, the AI Vision Forum series continues in Barcelona and Hong Kong.

About AI Vision Forum

AI Vision Forum (AIVF) is an enterprise AI and cloud technology forum series organized by AI Vision Global Alliance Limited, with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Hangzhou Technology and Innovation Research Institute as co-organizer. Its theme is AI systems that drive real growth, efficiency and scale.

The forum brings three groups together in one room. Businesses meet AI platforms whose systems are already in operation and ready to adopt. AI platforms meet multi-cloud partners that can run and scale their systems. Cloud partners answer businesses directly on the infrastructure they need to grow. AI adoption and the infrastructure behind it are decided together, rather than months apart.

The series opened in Kuala Lumpur on August 4, 2026. More than 150 industry leaders, corporate decision-makers, technology providers and investors attended live demonstrations of six AI platforms, supported by global cloud and technology partners. Manila, held on October 28, 2026, was the second edition. The series will continue in Barcelona and Hong Kong, with further Southeast Asian editions to be announced.
